Windows to Emotion
18 x 24 charcoal on paper

This is a three-series of works exploring emotion expressed through singular body parts. Using close family and friends as models, I isolated expressive body parts and wanted to highlight how every subtle movement can communicate new meaning. I chose to use people close to me since I see their emotions so regularly and it made this exploration feel so much more personal and intimate. These were not just technical exercises they were personal entries into the most important people in my life.
